Rodeo, Pageants Help Fair Make Return After Two Years

RISON - While entries were down and some of the usual ac‐tivities were not held this year, Fair Board President Roy Phillips said he was, overall, pleased with how things turned out at the 2022 Cleveland County Fair considering this was the first event since 2019.

RISON - The Cleveland County Fair and Rodeo returns this week after a two-year hiatus. The schedule is as follows for Thursday, Sept. 15 through Saturday, Sept. 17: All fair entries, besides baked goods, will be accepted from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Thursday. Baked goods will be accepted from 8 to 9 a.m.

Church of Christ Welcomes New Minister Keden Shrum

RISON - Keden Shrum is the new minister for the Rison Church of Christ, succeeding Lanis Lindsey, who retired in early June. Bom in Mineral Wells, Texas, Shrum spent most of his life in Oklahoma as his father, also a Church of Christ minister, served in churches in Texas, Arizona and Oklahoma.
