County Offering New Alert Notifications to Residents

RISON - More than 100 resi‐dents of Cleveland County have so far taken advantage of a free alert system that notifies people of emergencies, weather alerts and even community events through text messages, emails, voice calls and other means.

Veterans Group To Honor Danny Jacks With Vietnam Solider Statue at Park

RISON - The Cleveland County Veterans Association will host its annual Veterans Ap‐preciation Dinner this fall as a special fundraiser to honor the late Danny Jacks, a highly-deco‐rated Army Ranger who fought in Vietnam.

RISON - The Cleveland County School District began the 2022-23 school year on Monday with the same number of students on campus as their last average daily membership indicated, 691. Superintendent Craig Dupuy said the district closed out the 2021-22 school year in May with 702 on campus.
