Fresh off its 21-6 upset of highly-ranked Fordyce the week before, the Lake Village Beavers brought that moment to George Walker Field of Champions last Friday night as they took control in the second half to hand the Rison Wildcats a 52-12 loss on homecoming night. Lake Village quarterback rushed four 160 yards and scored four touchdowns as the Beavers cashed in on four Wildcat turnovers, including one that was returned 57 yards for a score. Rison fell to 2-3 in 8-3A conference play with the loss and the ‘Cats find themselves in four-way tie with Lake Village, Palestine-Wheatley and Drew Central as the season winds down to its final two games of the year. Rison will host the league-leading Fordyce Redbugs this Friday night in what will be the 73rd meeting of the long-time rivalry.
