CCSB Plans Three Millage Meetings

Body

The Cleveland County School Board plans to hold three community meetings to explain the proposed 6-mill tax increase that would fund a new $12 million gym at Rison School.

Superintendent Davy King asked board members to gather questions from residents so they can be addressed during the meetings, which are expected to be held in Rison, Kingsland, and New Edinburg.

The board also discussed using public events and brochures to promote the millage effort. In other business, the district finalized the $107,000 sale of the Kingsland bus shop and reported ongoing enrollment declines across most Southeast Arkansas districts.
