Cleveland County School District Superintendent Davy King informed the Herald Thursday evening that there is now just one project ahead of the district on the state’s school facility partnership funding list. In May, CCSD was approved for $2,707,623.36 in partnership funding to go toward construction of the proposed new gym at the Rison School campus. While CCSD was approved for the partnership program, the funding the state set aside for the partnership program was exhausted before it could be offered to CCSD. However, as those school districts ahead of CCSD on the list could not come up with the matching funds to accept it, that money is turned back t the state and offered to the next project on the list. The district is also in line to possibly receive $138,714.14 in partnership funding to build a new secure entrance to Rison Elementary.
