The historic Wesley Chapel Church in Randall, Arkansas, is being rapidly restored, saving the 1872 landmark from potential demolition. Led by Morgan King, who felt compelled to act due to the church's importance to her late grandfather, the project began in August and has quickly progressed, including foundation work and a new roof.
King, driven by a desire to preserve the community's history, used social media to gain traction, raising over $14,000 towards the estimated $25,000 to $50,000 total cost. The long-term vision is to use the restored church as a community event venue, with revenue supporting the building and the nearby cemetery. Restoration involves interior repairs, rewiring, and HVAC installation while maintaining its historical integrity. The project is also engaging local Woodlawn students for volunteer help.
