Jimmy Dale Adair Appointed County Judge

    The Cleveland County Quorum Court appointed County Road Department foreman Jimmy Dale Adair to serve the remainder of the late County Judge Jimmy Cummings’ term, which runs through Dec. 31, 2026. 

    Adair, a longtime county employee and former political opponent of Cummings, was chosen from a succession list Cummings had prepared. Despite their past rivalry, the two were friends, and Cummings had promoted Adair to road foreman. After an executive session, the quorum court unanimously approved Adair’s appointment, and he was sworn in immediately. By law, Adair cannot seek election for the office when the term ends.
