This year, Christmas in the Village features a revamped two-night event at the Pioneer Village (200 Yaney Drive in Rison).
The festivities kick off Thursday, December 4th, at 4 p.m., including a Christmas festival, a Fish Fry Fundraiser (4–7 p.m. for $20), and a free Holiday Vendor Market. The Cleveland County Cares group will host their annual Christmas Bingo ($1 per card) from 5–7 p.m. to benefit families in need. The Rison United Methodist Church Choir performs at 6 p.m., followed by the Gingerbread House Decorating Workshop (6–7:30 p.m.; $10/participant, $40 max/family). On Saturday, December 6th, the Village hosts the Reindeer Run 5K at 8 a.m. ($25) and Holiday Photo Sessions with Santa from 9–11 a.m. ($120 plus tax).
A final event is set for Thursday, December 11th, after the Rison Shine Christmas Parade, featuring Cookies & Cocoa with Santa and a performance by the Rison Starz Dance Academy.
