Halloween night will provide a fitting backdrop as longtime rivals Rison and Fordyce meet for the 74th time Friday at 7 p.m. at George Walker Field of Champions. Fordyce (7-1, 4-1) enters as the 8-3A favorite, while Rison (3-5, 2-3) is fighting to keep its playoff hopes alive after a 52-12 loss to Lake Village. Both teams’ most recent defeats came against the Beavers. Fordyce regained momentum last week with a 38-16 win over Dumas, led by returning All-State quarterback Andreal “Cadillac” Ellison, who is playing through a knee injury. Despite setbacks, Rison coach Chris Vereen said his Wildcats remain focused for the rivalry clash.
