Rison Wildcat Rally Comes Up Short

Body

An interception in the end zone late in the fourth quarter turned back a rally by the Rison Wildcats Friday night as they came up short, 28-24, in a non-conference loss to the Class 5A Joe T. Robinson Senators junior varsity.

The non-conference loss at Charlie George Stadium in Little Rock left the Wildcats at 1-2 going into 8-3A conference play this Friday night at home against the 3-0 Palestine-Wheatley Patriots. Rison’s Kyson Walker scored on a 29-yard run to pull the ‘Cats to within 28-24 with 9:41 left in the game.

After stopping the Senators on fourth down at the Rison 26, the Wildcats had driven to the Robinson 41 when the Senators picked off a pass into the end zone with 1:04 left. Robinson ran out the clock from there.
