Storm Cuts Successful Rison in the Fall Festival Short

Despite an abrupt end due to rain and storms, the 35th annual Rison in the Fall Festival was a huge success, according to director Douglas Boultinghouse. The festival saw a record number of vendors, most of whom sold out, and an all-time high crowd attendance before the weather hit. Following an early warning, organizers shifted the day's schedule up, allowing four of the five musical acts—Laura Caroline, Copper Flats, Ernie Halter, and Thom and Coley—to perform. However, lightning forced the cancellation of headliner Sunny Sweeney's set. Boultinghouse prioritized safety in the joint decision with Sweeney. The festival also featured a successful Fall into Fitness health event and the Joe Cook Memorial Horseshoe Tournament, with overwhelming feedback praising this year's music. Boultinghouse is already planning for an exciting 2026 festival.
