Wildcats Look To Spoil Barton’s Post-Season Hopes

Body

Rison will be wrapping up its 2025 football season tonight when the Wildcats travel to Barton to face the Bears in what will be Rison’s final game of the season. With the Lake Village Beavers knocking off the Palestine-Wheatley Patriots, 29-14, on Thursday night, it eliminated the Wildcats’ chances of making the playoffs for the first time since 1998. Now, Barton will have to win to have a shot at the post-season. Rison Coach Chris Vereen said his ‘Cats will likely see more passes in tonight’s game than they have seen all season.  Pulling the trigger for Barton’s spread offense is 6-4, 170-pound junior quarterback Jack Sexton, son of Barton Coach Steve Sexton, and he has some tall receivers to throw to, including 6-6 senior Qulan Green. Kickoff will be at 7 p.m. tonight at Barton.
