Woodlawn Runs Over South Side

The Woodlawn Bears racked up 467 rushing yards and as they scored early and often in a 66-36 win over South Side-Bee Branch Hornets at Hendrix College at Conway. Quarterback Ethan Saeler ran for 218 yards and four touchdowns, including a 98-yard burst, while Griffin Manes added 193 yards and two scores. 

Woodlawn built a 44-16 halftime lead behind big plays from Saeler, Manes, and Beau Watson’s 99-yard interception return. Though the Bears’ defense eased up in the second half, the offense stayed dominant.

Coach Doug Means praised his offensive line but stressed finishing stronger. Woodlawn improved to 3-0 before opening conference play Oct. 3.
