The Cleveland County Quorum Court established a three-person committee to examine potential pay adjustments for specific skilled positions within the county government, such as mechanics and heavy equipment operators.
County Judge Jimmy Dale Adair raised the issue, citing non-competitive starting wages for these roles and resulting difficulties in finding and retaining personnel.
During the meeting, the court also approved a road paving bid for Frye Road, Gum Springs Road and Log Cabin Road. The court also postponed a decision on purchasing a new road grader, and accepted bids to complete a voting machine storage building.
Coroner Chuck Valentine inquired about coroner pay and retirement benefits, while the court also allocated grants to local organizations.
