Rison Renews Law Enforcement Contract with CCSD

The Rison City Council renewed its annual law enforcement contract for 2026 with the Cleveland County Sheriff’s Department during the city council’s regular monthly meeting. 

There was about a $600 increase in the contract. The contract calls for two deputies to cover the city. Meanwhile, Rison Utilities Director Joe Freyer reported that progress that the Hickory Street well is no online and that progress is being made on the renovations to the city’s wastewater treatment facility. Freyer also said that they have discovered some water theft going on as the city replaces water lines throughout town.
