Bears Now Alone Atop South Conference Standings

The Woodlawn Bears had an open date last week but now find themselves alone the top of the South Conference standings after Strong knocked off Brinkley 14-6 last Friday night to hand the Tigers their first league loss. Woodlawn (3-0 in league play) is now a game ahead of Strong (4-1) and Brinkley (3-1). The Bears will host the winless Marvell Mustangs for homecoming this Friday night before entertaining the Brinkley Tigers in the regular season finale on Nov. 7. Despite its loss to Strong, Brinkley can still create a three-way tie for the conference championship by beating the Bears on Nov. 7.
