Woodlawn To Decide on Cafeteria Expansion Project Monday

The Woodlawn School Board postponed a decision on a proposed $1.44 million cafeteria addition after reviewing construction manager Brody Richardson’s conceptual budget Tuesday night. The 2,754-square-foot project includes new coolers, a generator, and safety features, with Richardson estimating the base construction at about $962,000. Superintendent Dr. Kevin Hancock said the board could accept the plan or seek new bids. The project is funded partly by a two-mill tax increase approved by voters and $400,000 in state aid. The board also approved budgets for baseball and softball, revised its cell phone policy, received positive academic reports, and adopted the proposed 2026–27 budget.
