The Cleveland County School Board voted unanimously during its monthly meeting Monday night to award one-time retention bonuses of $1,000 to full-time employees and $500 to part-time staff and bus drivers, totaling $106,467.75, already budgeted for this year. Superintendent Davy King said the bonuses reward staff for helping the district end last year with a $450,000 surplus. The board also reviewed Rison High School’s ATLAS interim exam results, which showed varied proficiency levels across grades and subjects. The board also approved the Cleveland County Youth Sports Association’s request to use the gym for a youth basketball program, EFT vendor listings, and a six-year Facilities Master Plan.
