Hooten's Predicts Finish For 'Cats, Bears Football

RISON - The Rison Wildcats are predicted to finish fifth in the 8-3A conference while the Woodlawn Bears are projected to finish second in the eight-man South Conference according to the coaches' poll in the 2024 edition of Hooten's Arkansas Football magazine.

This is the second consecutive year that the Wildcats have been treated to watermelon after summer workouts. Risonn used threee quarterbackss with the first team offense and several players at running back.

RISON - Rison Coach Chris Vereen saw some "bright spots" and plenty of room for improvement after the Wildcats concluded spring camp with a scrimmage last Thursday evening at George Walker Field of Champions.This was the second consecutive season for the Wildcats to learn a new offense.

LITTLE ROCK - Rison and Woodlawn High Schools both placed players on the Class 2A All-State and All-State Tournament baseball and softball teams, according to an announcement this week from the Arkansas Activities Association (AAA).
