County Groups Discuss Grants, Recognize Volunteers

County Fairgrounds' First Sunday Lunch Returns This Week

RISON - The Cleveland County Fair Association is bring back its First Sunday Lunch fundraiser from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. this Sunday, Feb. 4, at the County Fairgrounds. This month's menu includes roast beef, mashed potatoes, green beans, corn, rolls, tea and dessert.

First Digital Skills Training at Rison To Be Held Monday

RISON - RISON - Rison United Methodist Church will be hosting a food pantry from 9 to 10:30 a.m., Saturday, Jan. 27. The food pantry is typically held the fourth Saturday of each month.

Pioneer Village Meeting Thursday

RISON - The Pioneer Village Committee will meet Thursday, Jan. 24 at 6 p.m. at the Veterans Building. Beginning in February, the Village will meet the third Thursday of each month.

County Cattlemen To Meet Thursday

RISON - The Cleveland County Cattlemen's Association will be meeting at 7 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 25, at the Cleveland County Fairgrounds in Rison. Refreshments will be served. The guest speaker will be Brad Henley, the Area 5 vice president of the Arkansas Cattlemen's Association.

French Man Finds 7.46-Carat Diamond at Crater State Park

On Thursday, January 11, Julien Navas, of Paris, France, visited Arkansas' Crater of Diamonds State Park for the first time. While there, he found a 7.46-carat diamond on the surface of the park's 37.5-acre search area. Navas was visiting the U.S.
