RISON - The Cleveland County School Board approved what Superintendent Jerrod Williams described as a "tight" budget for the 2023-24 school year during its regular monthly meeting Monday night.

County Fair Sees Big Increase in Entries

RISON - While overall attendance to the Cleveland County Fair was down this year, Fair Board President Roy Phillips reported that they did see a "significant increase" in the number of entries they received for the county fair exhibits as well as for the payout for those entries.

CHAD MARSHALL BAND TO PERFORM AT RISON IN THE FALL - The Chad Marshall Band, a Delta Blues trio from Pine Bluff, will be one of three featured acts at this year's Rison in the Fall Festival, to be held Saturday, Oct. 7. RISON - The Cleveland County Extension Homemakers Council is looking to preserve a piece of local history by framing a nine foot by nine foot quilt "Service Men's Quilt" made in 1944 with more than 900 names of men and women who were serving or had served in World War II.
