County Fair Sees Big Increase in Entries

RISON - While overall attendance to the Cleveland County Fair was down this year, Fair Board President Roy Phillips reported that they did see a "significant increase" in the number of entries they received for the county fair exhibits as well as for the payout for those entries.

RISON - This year's Rison in the Fall Festival just three weeks away, set for Saturday, Oct. 7 in downtown Rison.
Prior to headliner David Nail closing out the festival at 8 p.m., Chad Marshall Band will take the stage around 5 p.m.

Deadline Friday To Add Names to WWII Quilt Book

RISON - The Cleveland County Extension Homemakers Council is looking to preserve a piece of local history by framing a nine foot by nine foot quilt "Service Men's Quilt" made in 1944 with more than 900 names of men and women who were serving or had served in World War II.
