SEEING FLASHES - New Rison Coach Caleb Carmikle (left) visits with Thomas Burns during a "Meet & Greet" for Rison High School's new coaches held last Thursday evening by Bethel #1 Missionary Baptist Church near Rison. Carmikle said he has seen "flashes" of what this year's team is capable of during team camps and 7-on-7's over the summer. However, he said there needs to be more consistency to become what he described as being a "good football team."
Carmikle Seeks Consistency As Wildcats Begin Preseason
The Woodlawn Bears' defensive line executes a play during their second day of preseason drills on the practice field behind the Carl Jones Sports Complex. Woodlawn is coming off a 9-2 season where the Bears advanced to the Class 2A eight-man state semifinals before falling at Izard County, 62-56, on the last play of the game. Izard County went on to win the state title.
