Revival Aug. 4-6 at First Baptist in New Edinburg

Woodlawn Baseball Fundraiser Friday

WOODLAWN - The Woodlawn High School baseball chicken dinner fundraiser to build a hitting facility extension is from 5 to 6:30 p.m. Friday, Aug. 1, at the school.Tickets are $15 and can be purchased from any Woodlawn baseball player or by calling Tommy Richardson at (870) 357-8171. 

UAMS MammoVan in Rison Aug. 13

RISON - The UAMS Mobile MammoVan will provide on-site screening mammograms at Rison Pharmacy's old location at 300 Pine Street, Wednesday, Aug. 13 beginning at 8 a.m.This is for women age 40 and over that are due for a mammogram. Mammograms are by appointment only.

Rison Methodist Food Pantry July 26

RISON - Rison United Methodist Church will be hosting a food pantry from 9 to 10:30 a.m., Saturday, July 26.The church, located at 800 Main Street, holds its food pantry the fourth Saturday of each month.

Bethel #1 To Host Southern Jubilee Music Convention

RISON - Bethel #1 Missionary Baptist Church at Rison will be hosting a Southern Jubilee Music Convention starting at 4 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 16. The event is hosted by Gus and Judy Biggers of We Will Testify. Bethel #1 Pastor Mike Goodwin will serve as emcee.

Rev. Newsom Will Lead First Baptist Revival Services

RISON - Rev. Dr. Kurbe L. Newsom of St. James AME Church of Rison and Warren will be leading revival services at First Baptist Church of Rison from Wednesday, Aug. 6, through Friday, Aug. 8. Services begin at 7 p.m. each night. Rev. Terry W. Reams, Sr. And the congregation invite everyone to attend.

New Life at Rison Honoring Pastor, First Lady on Aug. 3

RISON - New Life Missionary Baptist Church, 101 Niven Road in Rison, will be hosting a 30th Pastor and Wife Appreciation Service honoring Pastor Bobby J. Young and First Lady Marilyn Young at 11:15 a.m. Sunday, Aug. 3. Minister Efrem Mason will be the guest speaker for the event.
