Emergency Vehicle Driving Course Held in New Edinburg

NEW EDINBURG - The New Edinburg, County Line and Bradley Rural Volunteer Fire Departments met recently in New Edinburg to conduct the Emergency Vehicle Driving Course.  Combined in the three departments were twenty-eight volunteer firemen that completed the required annual certification training.

Dates Set for Beautification, Events Planning Meetings

RISON - Rison Shine has set two more dates for community meetings following the interest gained in past revitalization meetings, President Kristy Strother has announced.A meeting will be held Monday, Aug. 25 at 6 p.m. focusing on beautification efforts in and around downtown Rison.

RISON - Rison United Methodist Church will be hosting a food pantry from 9 to 10:30 a.m., Saturday, Aug. 23.The church, located at 800 Main Street, holds its food pantry the fourth Saturday of each month.

HedgeDweller Dinner Set for Aug. 15 at Rison

RISON - The annual HedgeDweller Dinner will be held Friday, Aug. 15 at 6 p.m. at the Rison School Cafeteria.The cost is $10 for a burger, chips, drink and dessert.Tickets can be purchased at the door.Wildcat Historian Stan Sandler will speak at the dinner.

RISON - Cleveland County School District will hold Open House Thursday, Aug. 7 from 4 to 6 p.m.Grades 6-12 will be in the high school building, with Grades K-5 in the elementary building.An orientation for 7th Grade will be held at 6 p.m. in the elementary auditorium.
