Gospel Meeting March 7-9 at Church of Christ

RISON - Bro. Keden Shrum has announced Rison Church of Christ will host its Spring 2025 Gospel Meeting March 7-9 with guest Wayne Jones, director of Bear Valley Bible Institute.Times are Friday and Saturday at 7 p.m., Sunday at 9:30 a.m., 10:25 a.m. and 1 p.m. A fellowship meal is provided.

Rowell Cemetery Provides Annual Report

ROWELL - The Rowell Cemetery on Hwy 63 is accepting donations for 2025.  Anyone with loved ones in the Rowell Cemetery are encouraged to send a donation to help with the expenses of upkeep for the cemetery.  Donations are very helpful and appreciated.

Food Pantry Feb. 15 at Macedonia MBC

RISON - Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church, located at 7370 Hwy. 35 South, will open its Food Pantry Saturday, Feb. 15 from 9 to 10:30 a.m. The church holds its food pantry the third Saturday of each month.

USDA Commodities To Be Distributed Feb. 8 at Kingsland

KINGSLAND - The Open Door Community Pantry located at 650 Hwy. 97 in Kingsland will be handing out USDA commodities from 10 to 11:30 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 8.Open Door Pantry usually distributes commodities on the second Saturday of each month.

Charles Cantwell Turns 100

RISON - Charles Cantwell of Rison had his 100th birthday on Tuesday, January 28, 2025. ---I want to thank my loving wife, Brenda Rogers Cantwell, for 33 happy years.

FBT Kickstarts Pioneer Village Project

RISON - FBT Bank Vice President Penny Pitchford is pictured with Pioneer Village President Marty Bowlin, making a $5,000 contribution to the historic Rison property. According to Bowlin, the funds will kickstart a restoration project for the Village’s jail structure.

Johnson Named 3A All State Cheerleader

RISON - Cayla Johnson received post-season honors announced by the Arkansas Activities Association in cheerleading.  She has been named as 3A All State in Cheerleading.

Cattleman’s Association Meeting Feb. 27

RISON - The Cleveland County Cattleman’s Association will meet Thursday, Feb. 27 at 7 p.m.  at the Fairgrounds Meeting Room.  Speakers will be Dr. Bronc Finch, Soils Extension Specialist with a topic on the importance of soil Ph and correction strategies.

Rison Elementary Parent, Teacher Conference Feb. 6

RISON - Parent Teacher Conferences will be held at Rison Elementary Thursday, Feb. 6 from 3 until 7 p.m. School will dismissed at 1:50 p.m. and buses will run at 2 p.m. 

Kindergarten Registration Feb. 6 at Rison Elementary

RISON - Kindergarten registration at Rison Elementary for the 2025-2026 school year will be held Thursday, Feb. 6 in the Elementary Auditorium from 3 to 7 p.m. Even if your child is enrolled in Cleveland County Headstart, you still need to register your child at the elementary.
