RISON - Rison United Methodist Church will be hosting a food pantry from 9 to 10:30 a.m., Saturday, Jan. 25.The church holds its food pantry the fourth Saturday of each month.

Mobile Mammogram Van in Rison Next Wednesday

RISON - The UAMS Mobile MammoVan will provide on-site screening mammograms in Rison, Wednesday, Jan. 15, 2025 beginning at 8 a.m.The MammoVan will be stationed in the parking lot of Rison Pharmacy's old location, 300 Pine Street.

USDA Commodities Distribution Is Canceled for Saturday

KINGSLAND - The Open Door Community Pantry in Kingsland has announced that it is canceling its regular USDA commodities distribution scheduled for Saturday, Jan. 11, due to the expected winter weather.Open Door Pantry usually distributes commodities on the second Saturday of each month.

Cattleman's Association Meeting Jan. 23

RISON - The Cleveland County Cattleman's Association will meet Thursday, Jan. 23, 2025 at 7 p.m. at the Fairground Meeting Room.Speakers will be Arkansas Cattleman's State and District representatives with program updates.

Conservation Districy Offering $1,000 Local Scholarship

RISON - The Cleveland County Conservation District is offering a $1,000 scholarship for a local high school student. As well as receiving the District Scholarship, the winner will be eligible to compete at both the area and state level.

Transfer Station, Courthouse To Be Closed on Jan. 1

RISON - The Cleveland County Courthouse and the Cleveland Solid Waste Transfer Station on Hwy. 79 at Rison will be closed on Wednesday, Jan. 1, in observance of the New Year's Day holiday. Both will return to regular business hours on Thursday, Jan. 2.

Last Chance for Pioneer Village Holiday Lights This Weekend

RISON - The Pioneer Village at Rison will open its annual holiday drive-thru light display this Friday, Dec. 20; and Saturday, Dec. 21 from 6 to 8 p.m.Admission is free, but donations are appreciated.

Hop on Pop Blood Drive, Rison Shine BBQ Set for Jan. 7

RISON - The Hop on Pop Memorial Blood Drive will host a drive in Rison Tuesday, Jan. 7 from 2 to 6 p.m. at Rison Baptist Church, organizer Stacy Walz has announced.The drive is held through Our Blood Institute. Walk-ins are welcome, but appointments are encouraged by visiting obi.
