RHS Alumni Night Sept. 6, Shirt Orders Due Aug. 20

RISON - Rison High School will host a special Alumni Night Friday, Sept. 6 at 7 p.m. during the game against Harmony Grove at George Walker Field of Champions.The special event is open to all RHS alumni. Alumni will be recognized in the stands from each decade.

Woodlawn 8th, 9th Grade Registration

WOODLAWN - Woodlawn High School will have its final day of registration this Thursday, Aug. 1.Ninth grade students will register from 8 a.m. to noon;  and 8th grade students from 1 to 3 p.m.Seventh Grade Orientation will be held at 5 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 8, at the high school.

Rison City Council Will Meet on Sept. 3

RISON - The Rison City Council’s regular monthly meeting for August will be combined with its September meeting on Tuesday, Sept. 3, the council decided during its July meeting.Mayor Charles Roberts requested the combined city council meeting due to a schedule conflict.

Rison Booster Club Meeting Tuesday

RISON - The Rison Booster Club will hold a meeting Tuesday, Aug. 6 at 6:30 p.m. in the Elementary Auditorium.  The meeting is for all sports and all those interested in the Booster Club.

Next Food Truck Friday Set for Aug. 16

RISON - After another successful month in July, Rison Shine and Pioneer Village have announced the next participating trucks for the August 16 Food Truck Friday at the Village.

Haunted House Interest Meeting Set For Aug. 8

RISON - The Pioneer Village and Rison Shine are looking to bring back the Haunted Village this fall. An interest meeting has been set for 5:30 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 8 at the Veterans Building in Rison.

Cottages To Host Back To School Event Aug. 6

RISON - Green House Cottages of Southern Hills will host a Back To School Bash for kids in grades Kindergarten through 6th grade, Tuesday, Aug. 6 from 4 to 6 p.m. during Rison Elementary’s Open House.The Cottages will give away hot dogs and drinks, and have drawings for prizes.
