WOODLAWN - Students from Woodlawn School District participated in the Youth Art Month flag contest with this year’s theme, “Healing Through Color.”Grace Holland, won the overall contest, and her work will be on display at the NAEA National Conference March 20-22 in Louisville, Kentucky.

KINGSLAND - Former Kingsland City Council member Karen Wiscaver was selected by her peers last Thursday to replace Sharon Crosby as the new mayor of Kingsland. Crosby officially resigned the position on Dec. 31.

President Biden Signs Legislation Renaming Post Office After Cash

RISON - It literally took an act of Congress but the post office at Kingsland will now be officially  known as the Kingsland “Johnny Cash” Post Office after former president Joe Biden signed the legislation to rename it on Jan. 4.

Rowell Cemetery Provides Annual Report

ROWELL - The Rowell Cemetery on Hwy 63 is accepting donations for 2025.  Anyone with loved ones in the Rowell Cemetery are encouraged to send a donation to help with the expenses of upkeep for the cemetery.  Donations are very helpful and appreciated.
