Rison City Council Changes Start Time, Moves July Meeting

RISON - The Rison City Council voted this month to change the starting time of its regular monthly meetings to 6 p.m. beginning with the July meeting. The council will continue to meet at Rison City Hall.

Dorey’s Fish Fry July 13 at RUMC

RISON - Rison United Methodist Church Outreach Committee will host a Fish Fry by Dorey’s July 13, from 4-6 p.m. Plates will be picked up at church parking lot. Fish and chicken are available. Tickets are $16 and can be purchased from church members.

Rison Methodist Food Pantry June 24

RISON - Rison United Methodist Church will be hosting a food pantry from 9 to 10:30 a.m. the fourth Saturday of each month. The next food pantry will be held Saturday, June 24.

Food Pantry Saturday at Macedonia MBC

RISON - Macedonia Mission‐ary Baptist Church, located on Hwy. 35 South, will open its Food Pantry Saturday, June 17 from 9 to 10:30 a.m. The church holds its food pantry the third Saturday of each month.

Ladies Auxiliary Holds Quarterly Meeting

The ABA Friendship Association District Ladies Auxiliary met for its quarterly meeting on April 13, 2023, at Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church (“MBC”). President Traci Harrington of Bethlehem MBC, called the meeting to order. Bro. Sluggo Norris, pastor of the host church, led the opening prayer.

Johnie, LaDonne Brewster Celebrating 60 Years Saturday

RISON - Johnie and LaDonne Brewster of Rison will celebrate their 60th anniversary this Saturday, June 17 with a special gathering at Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church, beginning at 2 p.m. The couple wed May 31, 1963.

Bethel #1 To Host VBS on June 26-30

RISON - Bethel #1 Missionary Baptist Church near Rison has announced it will be hosting its Proclamation Safari Park Vacation Bible School Monday through Friday, June 26-30. A meal will be served at 5:15 p.m. each day with the Bible School. There will be classes for everyone, including adults.
