RISON - An Oklahoma woman has been arrested and charged with first degree mur‐der in the shooting death of a Greenwood, Ark., man Satur‐day evening, Aug. 6, at a resi‐dence on Brown Road in the Macedonia community south of Rison.

CCSB Supports Joining Lawsuit Over ARP Funds

RISON - The Cleveland County School Board voted Monday night to join a possible lawsuit challenging the Arkan‐sas Legislative Council’s move to redirect federal COVID relief funds toward bonuses for teach‐ers and staff rather than allow‐ing the districts to use the money for other purposes.

Curry Opens Southern Roots Salon in Downtown Rison

RISON - Tammy Curry, who previously operated the Cutting Edge salon at Rye, has opened Southern Roots at 100 Third Street in the downtown area of Rison. The business is located in the same wood-sided shop where Linda Morrison had cut hair in the downtown Rison area for several years.
