Free Artist INC Express Workshop at UAM March 8,9

MONTICELLO — Artist INC Express, a hands-on career development workshop for artists of all skill levels and disciplines, will be held at the University of Arkansas at Monticello (UAM) Saturday, March 8, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. and Sunday, March 9, from 12 to 5 p.m.

Green House Cottages Host Valentine's Ball and Pageant

RISON - The Green House Cottages of Southern Hills hosted its 2025 Valentine’s Day Ball/King and Queen Pageant Friday, Feb. 14. Edna Robinson (left) was crowned Queen, and David Hendricks (right) was crowned King. The “Y” Extension Homemakers Club served as judges. 

King Graduates from Harding University

SEARCY - Grant King of Rison is one of more than 300 students who received diplomas and were recognized as Harding University graduates during the Fall 2024 commencement ceremony on Dec. 14, 2024.King received a Doctor of Pharmacy.

School Cell Phone Bill Sent To Governor

RISON - Gov. Sarah Huckabee Sanders is expected to sign legislation that will ban the use of cell phones at school with the beginning of the 2025-26 school year after the so-called "Bell to Bell, No Cell Act" was approved by the state senate on Tuesday.
