3-on-3 Basketball Tournament Set for March 28 to Benefit Fire Department

RISON - The Rison Fire Department will host the RFD 3-on-3 Basketball Tournament Saturday, March 28 at 9 a.m. at the Rison School Gym.There is a $60 entry fee per team, with up to 4 per team. Players must be at least age 16.

WINTER STORM DAMAGE - Superintendent Dr. Kevin Hancock informed the Woodlawn School Board Monday night that the campus suffered some damage from the recent winter storm that dumped about 3 inches of sleet on the county. Staff found two metal purlins supporting the roof inside the field house twisted from the weight of the ice. He said there was also damage to some of the lights at the baseball field as well as some air conditioning units being dented by ice falling off buildings.

RISON - Early voting for the 2026 primary election begins this Tuesday, Feb. 17, at the Hall-Morgan Veterans Building, 404 Sycamore Street in Rison across from the courthouse.Early voting will be available from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. weekdays, and from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, Feb.
