Organizer Jennifer Via reported people traveling the 600-plus mile route from neighboring states and as far away as Iowa, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin. Merged Junk Hunt Sees 'Great' Success Despite Rainy Start, Brings People To Arkansas

RISON - The Great South Arkansas Junk Hunt found great success this past weekend despite a rainy start, according to organizer Jennifer Via.This hunt marked the first run since the merger of the Historic Highway 35 Junk Hunt and the Highway 79-63 Junk Hunt Loop under the new name and expanded route.

West Saline Water Hosting Public Hearing on Merger

NEW EDINBURG - The West Saline Water Users Association at New Edinburg has announced a public hearing will be held at 6:30 p.m. Monday, March 18, at the New Edinburg Community Center to discuss the possible merger of the West Saline, Outside Kingsland and City of Kingsland water systems.

BACKWOODS POULTRY SHOW - Brian Gates marks off an entry in the bantam competition at the Backwoods Poultry Show held this past Saturday at the Cleveland County Fairgorunds in Rison. Frankie Harper of Rison, organizer of the event, said this year's show drew entries from as far away as Iowa, Nebraska and Kansas. In total, he said just under 400 birds took part in the competition.
