RISON - The Rison Wildcats will hold a community pep rally beginning at 7 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 24, outside the courthouse in Rison. Gateway Bank will be providing water and popsicles to those attending.

Local Radio Club Receives Grant To Provide Classes

Cleveland County Hamsters (CCH), an amateur radio club, has received a grant from the American Radio Relay League (ARRL) to offset the costs of presenting classes about the uses of all types of radio.

Walk Across Arkansas Registration Begins Aug. 28

LITTLE ROCK - Registration for the fall Walk Across Arkansas, an eight-week, group-based exercise program from the Cooperative Extension Service, will open Aug. 28 at walk.uada.edu/walk/ The competition starts Sept. 11 and ends on Nov. 5. Teams have up to 30 members.
