RISON - Johnie and LaDonne Brewster of Rison will celebrate their 60th anniversary this Saturday, June 17 with a special gathering at Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church, beginning at 2 p.m. The couple wed May 31, 1963.

Bethel #1 To Host VBS on June 26-30

RISON - Bethel #1 Missionary Baptist Church near Rison has announced it will be hosting its Proclamation Safari Park Vacation Bible School Monday through Friday, June 26-30. A meal will be served at 5:15 p.m. each day with the Bible School. There will be classes for everyone, including adults.

LITTLE ROCK - Chloe Hargis of the Woodlawn area was the first runner-up in the Miss Arkansas' Teen Pageant held last Friday night in the Robinson Center at Little Rock. Six from Cleveland County competing in the Miss Arkansas and the Miss Arkansas' Teen Pageants held last week in Little Rock.

Cleveland County Quorum Court To Meet July 10

RISON - The Cleveland County Quorum Court has voted to move its July monthly meeting from Monday, July 3, to Monday, July 10, due to the Independence Day holiday. The meeting will begin at 6 p.m. in the Hall-Morgan Veterans Building. The quorum court usually meets the first Monday of each month.
DAVID NAIL HEADS TO RISON - Country music recording artist will headline the Rison in the Fall Festival Saturday, Oct. 7. The GRAMMY and Academy of Country Music-nominated star will perform his hits 'Whatever She's Got,' 'Let It Rain' and more, including new music. Also performing at the free festival are Midnight South, the Chad Marshall Band, and the Cleveland County Community Theater.
