RISON - Stella-Jones Corporation's Rison plant was the recipient of the 2023 Division Shield Award. The plant hosted a luncheon Tuesday to commemorate the honor with its corporate team members across the nation. The Shield award recognizes Safety Health Improved Environment Leading our Decisions.

RISON - A trackhoe sits idle Monday after taking down a section of the former Cleveland County Nursing Home facing Fifth Street in Rison last week. Huntley Dirt Works of Sulphur Springs began tearing down the facility last week.

Rison Students of the Month: March

ELIN BRADLEY, a 7th grader at Rison Middle School, was named March student of the month for grades 7-9. She is the granddaughter of Michele Northrop and James Johnson. Her activities and honors include Junior Beta Club, Student Council, G.T., Junior Quiz Bowl and FBLA.

Hargis Signs with UAM

WOODLAWN - Woodlawn High School Senior Chloe Hargis has officially committed to joining the University of Arkansas at Monticello (UAM) cheerleading squad. At a signing ceremony held March 26, Hargis solidified her dedication to the sport she loves, marking a milestone in her athletic journey.
EASTER BUNNY VISITS COMMUNITY EGG HUNT AT RISON - Rison Shine C ommunity Development and the Pioneer Village co-hosted the Cleveland County Eggstravaganza Saturday at the historic village in Rison. The egg hunt featured around 2,000 eggs and more than 60 kids scouring the grounds looking for candy and prize-filled eggs. The event also included a pancake breakfast with the bunny that served as a fundraiser for the two groups.
