Christmas Events To Continue; Parade Sees Huge Participation

RISON - Christmas events will continue this week with Santa's annual visit to the New Edinburg Community Center while the Pioneer Village at Rison will be hosting its drivethrough light display. Both events are scheduled for this Friday and Saturday evening.

MACEDONIA MBC AWANA FOOD DRIVE - Members of the Awana program at Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church near Rison pose with the collection from their "boys versus girls" food drive held throughout the month of November. Debbie Leopard, one of the Awana leaders at Macedonia, said the food will be distributed through the church's food pantry beginning this month.

Gingerbread House Contest Winners

RISON - The CALL in Cleveland County, a Christian-based organization that supports local foster and adoptive families, and the Cleveland County Herald co-sponsored the Christmas in the Village Gingerbread House Workshop and Contest held this past Saturday, Dec. 2, at the Pioneer Village in Rison.

RISON - The John Samuel Be ard house, an authentic dogtrot style house originally built in the 1870's, is starting to take shape at the Pioneer Village in Rison as contractor Phillip Grantham and crew were busy installing the front porch on Tuesday.

It's Beginning To Look Like Christmas in New Edinburg

NEW EDINBURG - Susanne Wagnon and Family, with help from volunteers in the community worked to put up Christmas lights along the street in the downtown portion of New Edinburg before Thanksgiving. The Wagnon Family began the light displays in New Edinburg in 2003.
