Rison Students of the Month

Logan Miller, an 8th grader at Rison Middle School was named October student of the month for grades 7-9. Logan is the son of David and Nicole Miller, and the grandson of Susan Nichols and David Yardley, and Judy and Chuck Hansis. He has two siblings, Tyler and Sarah.
These students consistently exhibited good behavior and were nominated by their homeroom teachers for the month of October. Canon Cope Signs with Southern Arkansas

RISON - Rison High School senior catcher Canon Cope (center) signed a national letter of intent last Wednesday, Nov. 8, to play baseball for the Southern Arkansas University Muleriders at Magnolia. The upcoming 2024 baseball season will be the first time for Canon Cope to play for the Wildcats.

RISON - Dozens of people were on hand at the Cleveland County Courthouse Saturday morning to see descendants of Artie Elizabeth Hamilton Ryburn formally unveil a hand-sown World War II "Service Men's Quilt" made by the Home Demonstration Clubs of Cleveland County in 1944.

PROMISED LAND YOUTH HUNT - The Promised Land Hunting Club held its 19th annual youth hunt Saturday, November 4, 2023. The largest buck was harvested by Ridge Thompson. A devotional was presented followed by a meal served to the hunters and guests. YOUTH HUNT - Caleb Gilson, 11, of the Gatson Chapel area took this doe during the Youth Hunt held this past weekend while hunting near the Rowell community. Caleb also bagged a deer during last year's Youth Hunt. The modern gun season starts this weekend.
