Downtown Rison Sees New Construction

RISON - Downtown Rison is seeing its first new commercial construction project since 2015 as work is well underway on the new Rison Pharmacy building that will be located in the 300 block of Main Street.
EXCAVATION UNDERWAY FOR KINGSLAND DOLLAR GENERAL - After overcoming some delays in the purchase of the property, work finally began last week for the new Dollar General store that is going in at the corner of Hwy. 79/189 across from Kingsland School. The entrance to the new store will be along this road, which is Hwy. 189 (First Street) in Kingsland. A spokesperson for Dollar General said the company hopes to have the store open by winter 2024.

KINGSLAND - After experiencing some delays with acquiring the property, construction on the new Dollar General store at Kingsland is now officially underway and a corporate spokesperson said it could be completed by winter 2024, pending no major issues during the construction process.

Paving Underway Along Hwy. 133 Bridges

RISON - Those who use Hwy. 133 north of Rison to commute to Pine Bluff may have run into some traffic delays recently as paving has begun to connect the three new bridges that were built to cross over the Big Creek bottoms.
