Mack Earns Honorable Mention at Art Convention

HOT SPRINGS - 15 students from Woodlawn High School attended the annual AYAA convention in Hot Springs Friday, April 10. Over 1000 students attended and brought artwork to compete from all over Arkansas.

Young Finishes Second A Chess Tournament

WOODLAWN - Isaac Young, a 3rd grader at Woodlawn Elementary, placed second in the Southeast Arkansas Education Cooperative 3rd/4th grade chess tournament held in Monticello. Young placed second among 41 players from Drew Central, Hermitage, McGehee, Monticello, and Woodlawn schools.

Woodlawn Wins Regional Cubing Competition

WOODLAWN - Woodlawn students ranging from 4th grade all the way up to 12th grade attended the SEARK Cubing Competition at Southeast Arkansas Education Cooperative  in Monticello. Teams made up of six members are required to work together to solve 25 cubes in the best possible time.

RISON - Ashley Thompson owner of Sweet T Farms was a guest speaker at the County Cultivators Master Gardener meeting. She shared raising loofas and harvesting the seeds. She also demonstrated how to make a seed pot starter out of newspaper.

WOODLAWN - 6th Grade students at Woodlawn Elementary learned about composting with a 4-H lesson from Cleveland County Extension Agents Austin Compton and David West. “Thank you to our County Cultivators for helping us revive the Woodlawn Garden,” said Compton.
