Historical Society Will Meet Aug. 20

RISON - The Cleveland County Historical Society will meet at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 20, in the Roy and Christine Sturgis Library of Cleveland County.Anyone with an interest in the history of Cleveland County or their own family history or genealogy is invited to attend.

Woodlawn To Hold Open House Thursday

WOODLAWN - The Woodlawn School District will be having Open House for kindergarten through 12th grades from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 7 at the elementary and high school.Seventh grade orientation will be held at 5 p.m.

Kingsland Council Will Meet Aug. 28

KINGSLAND - The next regular meeting of the Kingsland City Council will be at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 28, at Kingsland City Hall, Mayor Karen Wiscaver has announced. The Kingsland City Council usually meets the fourth Thursday of each month.

Food Pantry Aug. 16 at Macedonia MBC

RISON - Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church, located at 7370 Hwy. 35 South, will open its Food Pantry Saturday, Aug. 16 from 9 to 10:30 a.m. The church holds its food pantry the third Saturday of each month.

Revival Aug. 4-6 at First Baptist in New Edinburg

Woodlawn Baseball Fundraiser Friday

WOODLAWN - The Woodlawn High School baseball chicken dinner fundraiser to build a hitting facility extension is from 5 to 6:30 p.m. Friday, Aug. 1, at the school.Tickets are $15 and can be purchased from any Woodlawn baseball player or by calling Tommy Richardson at (870) 357-8171. 

UAMS MammoVan in Rison Aug. 13

RISON - The UAMS Mobile MammoVan will provide on-site screening mammograms at Rison Pharmacy's old location at 300 Pine Street, Wednesday, Aug. 13 beginning at 8 a.m.This is for women age 40 and over that are due for a mammogram. Mammograms are by appointment only.

USDA Commodities To Be Distributed Aug. 9 at Kingsland

KINGSLAND - The Open Door Community Pantry located at 650 Hwy. 97 in Kingsland will be handing out USDA commodities from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. Saturday, July 12.Note the earlier times during the summer months due to heat.
