'Cats Hold Off Cards' Second Half Rally for 28-20 Win

HASKELL - "I'd rather have an ugly win than a pretty loss," were words offered by Rison head coach Chris Vereen.And so it was when the old momentum pendulum took a big swing in the second half at Jimmy "Red" Parker Field last Friday night.

Battered Bears Could Be Down To 10 Players Against T-Birds

WOODLAWN - Woodlawn Coach Zach Meyer said he could have as few as 10 players available this Friday night when his Bears host the Guy-Perkins Thunderbirds at the Carl Jones Sports Complex. The junior high teams are scheduled to play at 5 p.m. followed by the varsity teams at 7 p.m.

Jr. Bears Run Over Jr. Mustangs, 38-20

PLEASANT PLAINS, Ark. - Griffin Manes and Coltan Simmons both rushed for more than 100 yards as the Woodlawn Junior Bears picked up their first win of the season with a 38-20 victory over the Midland Junior Mustangs last Friday afternoon at Pleasant Plains.

RISON - Coming off a convincing 38-16 win over then 12th-ranked Camden Harmony Grove last Friday night, the Rison Wildcats will be seeing some double duty this week as they head to Haskell to take on the Harmony Grove Cardinals Friday night before hosting the Stuttgart Junior Varsity on Tuesday.

WOODLAWN - Rose Bud used its size advantage to control all phases of the game as the Junior Ramblers handed the Woodlawn Junior Bears a 52-14 loss to open their season last Friday at Woodlawn.
