Cut Trees Blamed For Thanksgiving C&L Power Outage

RISON - More than 1,400 C&L Electric Cooperative customers in mostly eastern Cleveland County experienced a temporary power outage last week on Thanksgiving morning.C&L Electric announced that 1,427 out of 4,878 tracked meters (29.25 percent) were without power in areas mostly along and around Hwy.

Johnny Cash Suit Returns Home to Rison

RISON - After being exhibited at venues as far away as Ohio, the suit that American music icon and Cleveland County native Johnny Cash wore during his 1976 Bicentennial concert at the Rison High School football field is back home - and perhaps permanently.

More Illegal Dumping on Dunkeffie Road Reported

 RISON - After getting one illegal tire dump cleaned up in northern Cleveland County in May, Cleveland County Judge Jimmy Cummings said another new tire dump was discovered over the weekend along Dunkeffie Road, this time just west of the railroad crossing.

EHC Group Plays Bingo at the Green House Cottages

RISON - Every month the "Y" Extension Homemakers Club goes to the Green House Cottages to play bingo with the residents. This month it was held at the Sadler Cottage Monday, Nov. 18, and residents from the other Cottages come to join in on the fun and games.
