Temporary Hours at Transfer Station

RISON - Due to staffing issues, the Cleveland County Solid Waste Transfer Station on Hwy. 79 at Rison has announced it will be operating under reduced hours due to staffing.The current hours will be from 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.

RISON - Rison Shine Community Development will host a Back To School Bash Friday, Aug. 2 in Downtown Rison.The event will include lifesize games such as connect four, jenga, and more beginning at 5 p.m. on Main Street.The event will also feature the Miss Rison Shine Pageant at 7 p.m.

Rison School To Get On-Campus Clinic

RISON - Mainline Health Systems, Inc., will be opening an on-campus clinic at the Rison School campus this year after the Cleveland County School Board approved an agreement with the Monticello-based company during its regular monthly meeting last Thursday night.

Kingsland Woman Arrested for Illegal Gambling House

RISON - Former Kingsland City Treasurer Sandra Leann Huntley, 41, of Kingsland, who order to pay restitution to the city after pleading guilty to misusing a city credit card in 2019, was among those arrested last week for allegedly running a gambling house in Warren.
