RHS 1974 Class Reunion Oct. 19

RISON - The Rison High School Class of 1974 will have its 50th Reunion, Saturday, Oct. 19 at 4 p.m. at the home of James and Karla Wilson in the “Y” Community.

Rison in the Fall Volunteer Dinner Planned for Monday

Haunted Village Production Crew Meeting Thursday

RISON - Rison Shine Community Development and the Pioneer Village announced that Stephanie Adams will direct the upcoming Haunted Village, set for this October on select nights.The event is a joint fundraiser for the two community development organizations.

RISON - Rison High School English Teacher Billy Reed was recently recognized by receiving a 2024 Teacher Impact Award from The Arkansas School for Mathematics, Sciences and the Arts.

Food Pantry Sept 21 at Macedonia MBC

RISON - Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church, located on Hwy. 35 South, will open its Food Pantry Saturday, Sept. 21 from 9 to 10:30 a.m.The church holds its food pantry the third Saturday of each month.

Friends, Family Day Sun. at St. James

Veterans Assoc. Accepting Names For New Plaque

RISON - The Cleveland County Veterans Association has announced that it is opening a new submission period for collecting names of veterans for a new plaque that will be placed at Veterans Park in Rison.

Rison Class of '78 To Meet Sept. 21

RISON - The Rison High School Class of 1978 will meet at 5:30 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 21, at the Y Community Center on Hwy. 35 North at Staves. A potluck meal will be served at 6:30 p.m.All class members and teachers are invited to attend.

Kingsland Volunteer Firefighters To Be Honored Thursday

KINGSLAND - Kingsland Volunteer Firefighters will be recognized Thursday, Sept. 19 following the Kingsland City Council meeting in honor of Volunteer Firefighter Recognition Day.The City declared the day as Sept. 19 during the August meeting.
