Fire Destroys Home Near Rison

RISON - Volunteer firefighters from three fire departments responded to a fire that destroyed the home of Phil and Becky Green on Moore's Church Road outside of Rison Tuesday afternoon. The Rison Fire Department reported it was dispatched to the fire at 3:12 p.m.

RISON - Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church, located on Hwy. 35 South, will open its Food Pantry Saturday, Jan. 20 from 9 to 10:30 a.m. The church holds its food pantry the third Saturday of each month.

CALMER - Mount Olivet Methodist Church at Calmer will have its Food Bank from 7 to 9 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 13, the church has announced. Mount Olivet is located at the Hwy. 63/ Hwy. 114 junction at Calmer. The food bank is held the second Saturday of each month.

USDA Commodities To Be Distributed Jan. 13 at Kingsland

KINGSLAND - The Open Door Community Pantry located at 650 Hwy. 97 in Kingsland will be handing out USDA commodities from 10 to 11:30 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 13. Open Door Pantry usually distributes commodities on the second Saturday of each month. The pantry is an equal opportunity distributor.
