County Discusses Woodlawn Park Lease

RISON - A committee representing the Woodlawn Community Park asked the Cleveland County Quorum Court Monday night for more time before deciding on  whether the board overseeing the facility would enter into a long-term lease with the county for the property.

RISON - State Sen. Ben Gilmore of Crossett discussed a variety of issues ranging from education and crime to forestry and economic development during a community breakfast meeting held last Wednesday morning at the Main Street Cafe in downtown Rison.

Rison Considering Offer To Take On Old Lion Station

RISON -  The Rison City Council agreed during its meeting Tuesday night to at least investigate the possibility of taking ownership of the old Lion service station building located at the corner of Main and Third Streets in downtown Rison.

Woodlawn Announces Homecoming Schedule

WOODLAWN - Woodlawn High School will begin the 2022 Homecoming Activities on Thursday, Oct. 6 with the annual afternoon Homecoming Ceremony beginning at 2 p.m. School will be dismissed at 2:30 p.m. Thursday evening, the Homecoming Ceremonies will begin at 7 p.m. Gates will open at 6:30 p.m.

RISON - The seventh annual Hwy. 79-63 Junk Hunt begins Thursday, Oct. 6, and runs through Saturday, Oct. 8 with miles of yard sales throughout Cleveland County and beyond.

More Details Announced For Halloween Events

RISON - Fall festivals and Halloween events are already in the works for Rison and New Edinburg next month. Rison Shine and the Pioneer Village are joining forces to host a haunted house Saturday, Oct. 22 from 7 p.m. to Midnight. The cost is $10 per person.
