County Democrats To Meet on Jan. 21

RISON - The Democratic Party of Cleveland County will have a meeting at noon Saturday, Jan. 21, starting at noon in the Hall-Morgan building, Jametta Harper, chairperson, has announced.

Macedonia Pantry Canceled for January

RISON - Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church, located on Hwy. 35 South, has canceled its food pantry for the month of January. The church typically holds its food pantry the third Saturday of each month.

County, Woodlawn Park Reach Lease Agreement

Delta Solar Activates New Solar Array for Woodlawn

WOODLAWN - Delta Solar officially flipped the switch last Thursday, Jan. 12, on a new solar panel array located south of Calmer that will offset the power being used by the Woodlawn School District, thereby saving the school district about $1.5 million in energy costs over the life of the system.

WOODLAWN - The Woodlawn School Board approved a one-year contract last Thursday for a company to continue monitoring the district's wastewater discharge, but it also discussed looking at a different long-term solutions to the district's sewer issues.

County May Review One-Can Policy

RISON - Cleveland County Judge Jimmy Cummings said he is sending a letter and a copy of the county's solid waste contract to justices of the peace on the quorum court this week after hearing public feedback on the one trash can per residence policy that was approved by the quorum court on Jan. 3.
