Rison's Taylor Signs with ASU-Three Rivers

RISON - Rison Lady Wildcat catcher Senior Breanna Taylor signed a National Letter of Intent last Friday to play softball at Arkansas State University-Three Rivers at Malvern, which competes in the National Junior College Athletic Association.

Bears Sweep Hornets, Rebs

WOODLAWN - Mason Edmonds and Brayden Jones combined to throw a two-hitter as the Woodlawn Bears knocked off the Harmony Grove Hornets, 5-3, in the nightcap of a nonconference double-header Saturday at Woodlawn.

Lady Bears Drop Two at Jonesboro

JONESBORO - Brookland's Brianna Patterson hit a walk-off, three-run homerun in the bottom of the fifth to power the Class 4A Lady Bearcats to a 10-7 victory over the Woodlawn Lady Bears in second round action of the Blazer Blast in Jonesboro on Saturday.

Trojans Hold Off Wildcats, 7-4

PARKERS CHAPEL - Rison finally began to cash in on some of its scoring opportunities late in the game, but it was too little, too late as the Parkers Chapel Trojans beat the Wildcats, 7-4, in 8-2A action last Wednesday at Parkers Chapel.

POYEN - Tate Hall went 3for-4 to drive in three runs as the Woodlawn Bears beat the Poyen Indians, 11-1, in non-conferenct action Tuesday afternoon at Poyen.Woodlawn went up 3-0 in the top of the first off a bases-loaded walk to Jayden Wilmoth and a two-run single by Hall.

Lady 'Cats Get Two Blow-Out Victories

HARMONY GROVE - Carlie Crain's grand slam homerun in the fourth inning helped power the Rison Lady Wildcats to a 132 victory over the Harmony Grove Lady Hornets in non-conference action Monday afternoon at Harmony Grove.It was Rison's second consecutive game to win by the 10-run rule.

Down By Seven, Wildcats Rally Past Dragons, 13-9

RISON - Matthew Howard had four hits while Ethan Saeler had two doubles and a single to help Rison battle back from a seven-run deficit to knock off the Junction City Dragons, 13-9, for their first win of the season Tuesday afternoon at Wildcat Field.

Lady Bears Pull Away From Poyen, 7-2

POYEN - Six of Woodlawn's 10 hits came in the fifth and sixth innings as the Lady Bears used a late surge to put away the the Poyen Lady Indians, 72, in a non-conference game Tuesday at Poyen.Back-to-back doubles by Jaci Hoyt and Kathryn Dixon gave Woodlawn a 1-0 lead in the third.

Lady Bears Third at Atkins Tournament

ATKINS - After a delayed start to the season thanks to the Lady Bears basketball team making a run to the state tournament, the Woodlawn softball team got off to a good start going 5-2 to finish third in the Chelsea Riley Memorial Tournament held this past weekend at Atkins.
