RISON - The Promised Land Hunting Club held its 20th annual youth hunt Saturday, November 2, 2024. Raylon Thompson received trophies for harvesting the largest doe and a hog. A devotional was presented by Raylon Thompson followed by a meal served to the hunters and guests.
Abigail Wilson, the Rison High School October Student of the Month for 7th - 9th grades. Abigail is the daughter of Tamera and David Donaldson. She is active in competitive dance, RHS Student Council, and Gifted and Talented. Abigail is also a member of the Junior Beta Club and FBLA.

RISON SHINE TRUNK-OR-TREAT - A trunk-or-treater poses with characters form Sesame Street that were one of the “trunkers” at the Rison Shine Trunk-or-Treat held along the 200 block of Main Street in downtown Rison. An estimated 1,000 people took part in the event. While usually held on Halloween night, Trunk-or-Treat was moved to Tuesday night due to the Rison-Fordyce junior high football game being held Thursday night.

CHOW LINE - Veterans and their guests along with other attendees go through the serving line at the Cleveland County Veterans Appreciation Dinner held Saturday at the fairgrounds in Rison. All veterans and a guest enjoyed a catfish and chicken buffet prepared by Dorey’s Catfish. This year was the 10th anniversary of the dinner.

Local Master Gardeners Celebrate Appreciation Day

MASTER GARDENER APPRECIATION DAY - Several Master Gardeners and County Cultivators took a trip to the Botanical Garden of the Ozarks in Fayetteville to celebrate Master Gardener Appreciation Day, Oct. 14. Several classes on bees, bird watching and succulents were taught.
