RISON - About 200 people took in the Cleveland County Veterans Association’s annual Veterans Appreciation Dinner this past Saturday at the Cleveland County Fairgrounds in Rison.

Local Master Gardeners Celebrate Appreciation Day

MASTER GARDENER APPRECIATION DAY - Several Master Gardeners and County Cultivators took a trip to the Botanical Garden of the Ozarks in Fayetteville to celebrate Master Gardener Appreciation Day, Oct. 14. Several classes on bees, bird watching and succulents were taught.

Gracen White Crowned Rison Homecoming Queen

RISON - Rison High School crowned Senior Gracen White as its 2024 Homecoming Queen, with senior Ragan Shrum earning the Maid of Honor title during ceremonies held Friday, Oct. 18 on the George Walker Field of Champions.
CHARLES ESTEN HELPS GROW FESTIVAL - Singer and actor Charles Esten performs on the Rise Up Rison stage at Saturday’s Rison in the Fall Festival on Main Street in Downtown Rison. Festival Director Douglas Boultinghouse credits Esten and his wife for helping promote this year’s festival across social media, contributing to the largest crowd to date. The event is hosted by Rison Shine Community Development, Inc. Other performers included Rissi Palmer, BIAS, Marybeth Byrd and Matt Wilkerson.

Esten Wows Crowd at Largest ‘Rison in the Fall’

RISON -  This past Saturday's Rison in the Fall Festival brought in a large crowd to Downtwon Rison to see singer and actor Charles Esten, according to Festival Director Douglas Boultinghouse who puts on the festival with his team of Rison Shine Community Development, Inc. members.
In the women’s division of the Race to Rison in the Fall 5K  the top three finishers were (left to right) first place, Kayka Jackson, 25:46; Riley Hyatt, 26:14; and Haven Simpson, 30:04.
